VERY IMPORTANT: There are three main worksheet sections (Tan, Blue, and Clear), and each vertical “column” in each section corresponds to a column in each of the other two sections… AND the exact order of the columns is extremely important. For instance, if Player 1 is the 1st column in the Tan section, then Player 1 must also be the 1st column in the Blue section, and the 1st column in the Clear section. And it follows then that each of the sections must always have the same number of total columns. | ||
Be particularly aware of column order as you add and delete players. Every column you add/delete in any section must be added/deleted in exactly the same location in each of the other two sections. | ||
To add a current or prospective player: | ||

2) From WITHIN Excel, open the text file to enter the Text Import Wizard. On the first screen, select “Delimited” and click Next. Then, on the second screen, in the empty box just to the right of “Other”, type the character that occurs when you push Shift-Backslash. Then click Finish. 3) Copy the entire player worksheet (i.e., the one just opened) into the GEM Players workbook. This is done by right-clicking on the worksheet, selecting “Move or Copy”, and selecting GEM Player in the “To book” drop-down. | ||
4) Once the recently imported player worksheet has been copied into GEM, copy the name of the player EXACTLY as it appears on the worksheet tab (i.e., highlight the actual text), and paste the name into the appropriate column headers of the three main sections (Tan, Blue, and Clear). Note that the player name header is in Row 2... Row 1 is the position. |
