OGK-6 downs net profit 75.8% to RUB281 mln in 9M 2008

OJSC OGK-6 has today released an interim unaudited financial statement for 9M 2008 under the International Financial Reporting Standards, or IFRS.

The company managed to raise revenues 24.7% on the year, to RUB31, 903.9 mln. Net profit dropped 75.8% to RUB281.3 mln respectively in the reporting period.

The report says the advance in revenues is linked with a number of reasons including larger sales volumes and a higher next day market price (?) in the current market liberalization environment. The company's income from energy and capacity sales at free prices surged 159% with the share in the sales structure rising to 34% from 16% in the same period of the previous year. The share of energy and capacity sales under previous agreements declined by 0.7%.
